The uptime guarantee - a thing to look for?
The uptime guarantee is the second type of guarantee that is used very often by the web hosting companies (the first is the money back guarantee). Initially it sounded to me like a very good concept and I thought it was a good criterion to select between hosting companies. That however, was a very long time ago. Today I don't think an uptime guarantee is really worth much and I'll explain you why. The initial thought when you hear about a 99.9% uptime guarantee is: "My website will be up 99.9% of the time!" Just like all things in life, the ways to run a business are rapidly
changing and evolving. The potential involved with having a domain name/web
site is staggering to say the least. A web site gives the consumer a 'shop
front' that is not only open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but is also
situated right on their desktop. Instead of being locked into only the

What is Bandwidth ?
Bandwidth is a measure of data transfer. Computer data is fundamentally measured in bits, and bytes. Understanding the units of measure is necessary before you can do anything else. A Byte is simply 8 bits. In the world of computers measurements are conveniently represented by powers of two, while in the real world powers of ten are prevalent. A Gigabyte is 1024 Megabytes, or 1048576... Written by: Peter Lee | General Hosting

Linux is an operating system that was initially created as a hobby by a young student, Linus Torvalds, at the University of Helsinki in Finland. Linus had an interest in Minix, a small UNIX system, and decided to develop a system that exceeded the Minix standards. He began his work in 1991 when he released version 0.02 and worked steadily until 1994 when version 1.0 of the Linux Kernel was released. The current full-featured version is 2.5 and development continues.
Linux is developed under the GNU General Public License and its source code is freely available to everyone. This however,... Written by: AskWebHosting | General Hosting
