Ricoh Introduces the GX7000 GelSprinter Color Printer

GelSprinter(TM) Technology Optimizes Speed, Image Quality and Affordability

WEST CALDWELL, N.J., Dec. 13 -- Ricoh Americas Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, today launched the GX7000 GelSprinter(TM) color printer. This cost-effective, energy-efficient printer provides vivid color and high productivity that is ideal for small and mid-sized office environments looking to minimize their total cost of ownership.

The innovative GelSprinter technology eliminates smudging and curling by utilizing quick-drying viscous ink, belt-driven paper feeding and a long-lasting printhead design. With a print speed of 29 pages per minute (ppm), in both color and black and white, the GX7000's output is comparable to most laser printers and faster than most inkjets. The viscous ink is also sun-resistant and waterproof, creating several benefits such as enabling documents to be highlighted after printing without smearing, a huge advantage for drawings, blueprints and architectural plans. Additionally the GX7000 is able to print documents up to 11" x 17" in size.

Color printing costs are cut dramatically by several features designed to make printing efficient for the smaller workgroups. The Level Color Mode reduces ink density for graphics and images without affecting the readability of the text, reducing cost-per-page for color prints and making it equal to that of black and white documents. The GX Series of products uses high-yield viscous ink cartridges that are compatible across the entire line of GelSprinter products. Standard automatic duplexing also helps reduce power consumption and print more documents on less paper.

The GX7000 boasts a 250-sheet tray, with an optional 250 sheet PFU and 100-sheet Multi-Bypass Tray capable of handling a variety of paper stocks and sizes. Network connectivity is easily enabled, allowing businesses to connect and monitor multiple machines from one central location. In addition, the GX7000 meets Energy Star guidelines and offers several power saving functions including sleep mode and combine copy modes.
