Generate Inc. Enters 2008 with Strong Momentum from 2007
Introduction of four new solutions, rapid market penetration, and customer adoption fuels growth and international expansion
MAYNARD, Mass., Jan. 23 -- Generate Inc., the market leader in enabling real-time contextual business information, today announced that the company has exceeded all corporate goals set forth in 2007, including achieving profitability. During 2007 Generate successfully introduced four new solutions to the market, continued to expand its customer base including rapid penetration in the publishing and media markets with a total of 80 new customers, and made significant enhancement to Generate g2(TM), the company's flagship product.
Introduction of One-click Technology
Generate unveiled gClick(TM) technology in September 2007 simultaneously at the DEMOfall 07 and InfoCommerce 2007 conferences. gClick, a Web 2.0 widget, is designed for publishers and media companies to enable their consumers to dynamically extract contextual, real-time business information from any Web page, in a matter of seconds, with just one click. gClick delivers an embedded relationship-mapping functionality that in just seconds shows readers how they connect to every company and executive referenced within the Web page. gClick enables publishers and media companies to make content more contextual to their consumers while driving dramatic increases in noneditorial-based advertising inventory.
"This game-changing functionality is a win-win for us," says Ray Shaw, CEO of American City Business Journals. "It enables us to dynamically integrate and match our existing internal data assets with powerful, external real-time content and data while delivering very compelling value to our users."
Generate also introduced a B2B version of gClick to technology companies, professional service organizations, and financial service organizations. Generate gClick(TM) Enterprise scans any Web page -- including information applications such as Factiva, OneSource, and Hoovers as well as customer relationship management (CRM) and sales force automation (SFA) applications such as Salesforce.com, SAP, and Siebel -- to give employees a single, personalized view of this aggregated business information, including how they connect to each company and executive via relationship-mapping technology.
Launched Daily Newsletter Service
The company also launched Generate gDaily(TM), a daily newsletter service that monitors the latest news events combined with in-depth company and executive information, customized by industry.
Generate's daily newsletter service enables companies to keep informed of the latest industry news and monitor competitive threats.
Deloitte recently tested Generate gDaily internally with 3,000 users. Based on employee feedback, Deloitte has expanded licensing to include up to 30,000 users in multiple industry segments across its full practitioner team in the United States. gDaily notifies Deloitte about key customer, prospect, management, and event changes in each industry segment.
"This newsletter program has allowed us to consolidate all email notifications coming from various sources within multiple market segments and it provides just the right amount of information," adds Alfred Hsi, director, research & development at Deloitte. "All the information I need is delivered to my inbox daily. That's an extremely convenient and beneficial service for our employees."
Other Product Offerings & Enhancements
In addition to launching Generate gClick, the company announced a suite of media solutions that enable publishers, media, and content companies to make content more contextual to readers, increase usage frequency and brand loyalty, and create significantly higher CPM inventory. The suite of solutions includes vertical search, directories, professional networking services, and back-end support.
Throughout 2007 the company made enhancements to Generate g2. New features included Generate's g2 Toolbar, a feature that enables users to scan any browser-driven page to extract contextual sales intelligence, in seconds, without having to log in to the Generate g2 application. Other enhancements included a new dashboard, peer group affiliations, additional trigger events and search capabilities, customized watch lists and the ability to receive email alerts announcing breaking news. These enhancements provide business professionals with increased customization and performance to identify qualified opportunities and monitor competitive threats in real time.
Customer Momentum
Generate continued its rapid sales momentum, gaining over 100 customers since launching the company in the fourth quarter of 2006. Generate's rapid market penetration in industries such as technology, financial services, professional services, publishing, and media has been a positive endorsement to the company's business intelligence platform. Customers include Accenture, Akamai, AT&T, Dell, Deloitte, Experian, Hearst Communications, Inc. Newspaper Division, IBM, Juniper Networks, MediaNews Group Interactive, Microsoft, Monster, Morgan Stanley, Philadelphia Media Holdings' Philly.com, Thomson Financial, T-Mobile, and Yahoo!.
