ANDOVER, Mass., June 18 -- Vertica Systems today launched the "Powered by Vertica" Program, which makes it easy for enterprise software and hardware partners to embed the Vertica(R) Analytic Database into their solutions. The new program enables independent software vendors (ISVs), original equipment manufacturer (OEM) hardware and appliance providers and software as a service (SaaS) vendors to differentiate their solutions at a time when businesses in any industry are trying to gain competitive advantage by turning their data into meaningful information.

The Powered by Vertica program addresses this need by giving ISVs, OEMs and SaaS partners the ability to embed the revenue-generating performance benefits of Vertica's grid-based, column-oriented analytic database within their solutions. Leveraging Vertica in this way allows partners to differentiate significantly from competitors and provide unique value to their customers by enabling them to analyze much more data -- from hundreds of gigabytes to dozens of terabytes -- at any level of detail with extremely rapid response times while running on low-cost "green grids" of industry standard servers.

Enterprise event management (EEM) technology provider OpenService is a Powered by Vertica partner using the Vertica Analytic Database in its LogCenter application to offer customers real-time security compliance reporting based on large volumes of data continuously collected from security sensors.
