Add-on-Con: The First Conference for Developers and Marketers of Browser Add-ons
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 13 -- The first Add-on-Con is scheduled for December 11, 2008 in Mountain View, California at the Computer History Museum.
This one-day, two-track event gathers visionaries, entrepreneurs, VCs, and technologists to focus on the business model and the technology of building and marketing browser add-ons. The Platinum sponsors include Microsoft and Mozilla and the closing keynote will focus on the future of the web browser platform.
One of the newest segments to emerge in the web ecosystem is browser add-ons. With thousands currently available, reaching tens of millions of users daily, add-ons provide a new and unique opportunity to drive innovation and help define the next generation of browsing.
Add-on-Con is the first conference designed specifically for this emerging market. Organized by members of the add-on community, Robert Reich, Founder of OneRiot, Dick Hardt, Founder of Sxipper, and Fraser Kelton, VP Business Development at AdaptiveBlue, this one-day conference brings together platform vendors, developers and marketers, with the goal of facilitating communication, and sharing knowledge.
Participants to Add-on-Con will get a combination of hands-on tutorials and direct knowledge sharing from others in the add-on community, including Alexa, Briks, Foxmarks, Google, Xoopit and Yoono. The developer and business marketing tracks are being designed to provide an open, transparent venue for all parties to share lessons learned and best practices.
