Westman Communications Launches Integra5's Converged Services Platform to Bolster New Triple Play Offering
Canadian provider enhances inaugural telephony service with i5's TV Caller ID; first to offer the application in Manitoba
WOBURN, Mass., Dec. 2 -- Integra5, the leader in 'blending the bundle' into new communications experiences that span multiple consumer devices, today announced that Canadian triple play provider Westman Communications Group has deployed its i5 Converged Services Platform (i5 CSP) and TV Caller ID application. The first operator in Canada's Manitoba province to offer it, Westman is launching the application to add value to and increase uptake of its new Westman Home Phone telephony service, as well as its triple play bundle overall.
Westman, a leader in communications and IT services in Western Manitoba, provides a range of services to residential and enterprise customers over a cutting-edge fiber-optic network, including: digital cable TV, high-speed Internet, HD programming, and VOD and DVR, as well as advertising and Web hosting services. Westman Home Phone marks the company's first telephony offering, with flat-rate local and long-distance plans and popular calling features. Subscribers of its triple play package of Westman Home Phone, digital cable TV and high-speed Internet services will automatically receive TV Caller ID, while subscribers of its Westman Home Phone and digital cable TV services can also receive the application for an additional $5 per month.
"The launch of our Westman Home Phone product combined with Integra5's TV Caller ID provides our customers with a new choice for digital voice service that also delivers innovative cross-platform telephony features unlike other phone companies in the markets we serve," said Dave Baxter, President and CEO of Westman Communications Group. "At Westman, we're committed to developing new services that are responsive to our customers' needs, and Integra5's platform has helped us deliver on that commitment with the added value and service differentiation that comes with TV Caller ID and other converged services."
Westman Communications has deployed the i5 CSP -- now used by nearly 40 operators worldwide --- in its video head end. The open, network-based platform scales to millions of subscribers and requires no truck rolls or in-home equipment. It works in cable, IPTV and hybrid networks and supports EBIF, tru2way(TM) and IMS environments, enabling any service provider to rapidly deploy real-time converged services across TVs, PCs, and mobile and landline phones.
"Broad-scale deployments of the i5 CSP and converged services prove their ability to increase differentiation and bolster subscriber retention and ARPU," said Ed Perry, vice president of sales at Integra5. "Additionally, operators like Westman Communications are recognizing the clear value of the i5 platform in accelerating customers' transition to digital-tier TV and landline services."
