Core Services Looks Forward to Philanthropic Efforts in 2009

Tough Economic Times Won't Stop Oracle Service Provider From Participating in Future Charitable Giving and Events.

MORRISTOWN, N.J., Dec. 11 -- Core Services Corporation, an Oracle Certified Partner continues to stay involved in several local community and national charitable organizations by pledging early support for 2009 events. "I know that nonprofits and local organizations are struggling to raise enough money to keep up with increasing needs in a struggling economy," says James Bistis, President and CEO of Core Services. "Across the country, many of these organizations are desperately trying to make up for budget shortfalls while seeing their donations decrease dramatically." Bistis continues, "Core Services has supported many local and national organizations for several years and is committed to contributing to their efforts. We will continue to encourage our employees to stay involved and expand their volunteer efforts when possible."

National Night Out:

On October 5th 2008 Core Services sponsored the Child ID Kit distribution for National Night Out in Grayson Lakes, a local community in Texas. Core will continue to expand its involvement as more Core employees volunteer for local National Night Out events. The "25th Annual National Night Out" (NNO) is a unique crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). The National Night Out campaign involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 10,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 35 million people participated in National Night Out 2007.

"More than 800,000 children go missing every year in America," says Jennifer Lasida, Core Services' Director of Marketing and events. "That's one child every 40 seconds. The National Child Identification Program in partnership with NNO is the largest child identification effort ever conducted." She credits the program with having helped protect more than 10 million children in the last 4 years. Lasida continues, "Core Services will continue to support this nationwide event and encourage our employees to participate each year."

The American Cancer Society's Starlight Gala:

With goals of raising money for the American Cancer Society and introducing young professionals to philanthropy, the Starlight Gala was established in 1996. Comprised of Houston's brightest young leaders, these young philanthropists give back to the community in a big way.

The 13th Annual Starlight Gala was held March 29, 2008 at the Edwin Hornberger Conference Center, located in the Texas Medical Center. With the goal of raising more than $100,000, this year's "Lone Star Tribute: Honor and Remembrance Under the Texas Sky" was a smashing success in reaching this goal.

In addition to being a Table Sponsor and Donor the last two years, Core Services' Director of Marketing and Events, Jennifer Lasida, volunteered her time and expertise. As a veteran event planner, Jennifer has worked as a site committee co-chair for the event's operation planning and execution, managing the food and beverage staffing during the event.

Since its inception, the Starlight Gala has set the bar for many other American Cancer Society events. Core Services has already pledged to be a major donor for the 14th Annual Starlight Gala, "Through the Looking Glass," to be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 in downtown Houston. "This unique black tie event is produced entirely by young professionals, ages 25 to 45, who are passionate about giving back to the Houston community," says Lasida. "I am honored to work with such a great group of individuals and hope to inspire more young professionals to continue to give their time to this organization." Over the past 13 years, the Starlight Gala committee has raised more than $1.1 million for cancer research, education, advocacy and service.

The Presidio Community 2nd Annual Golf Classic.

For the second year in a row, Core Services was a major sponsor for the Presidio Community YMCA 2nd Annual Golf Classic. Proceeds benefited the YMCA's Youth and Family Programs, providing financial assistance to youth and families for YMCA programs such as summer camps, swim lessons and youth sports leagues. Keith Inouye, Core Services' Vice President of Sales is a board member of the Presidio Community YMCA of San Francisco and encouraged Core's participation as a marquis sponsor. "The Presidio YMCA is a vital community organization, especially now, when many families are struggling with this economic downturn," says Inouye. "My personal commitment and Core's continued involvement will be a priority for 2009."

The Far Hills Race:

On Saturday, October 18th 2008, Core Services family and friends, along with more than 50,000 spectators, converged on the rolling hills of Moorland Farms in Far Hills, NJ for the state's biggest social event of the fall season, the Far Hills Race Meeting. October 18th marked the 88th running of this classic tradition, featuring some of the finest steeple chasers in the world. Since the 1950's this unique event has raised over $17 Million, with race proceeds benefiting the Steeple Chase Cancer Center at Somerset Medical Center.

This was Core Services' 5th year as a corporate sponsor and Jim Bistis, Core's President and CEO, has already pledged to be a sponsor for the 2009 Far Hills Race. This event has been near and dear to Bistis, who like many local Core employees, has attended this event since childhood.
