RICHMOND, Va, BUSINESS WIRE-- Peak 10 Inc., a managed services company with world-class data
centers, today announced the construction of a second
enterprise-class facility contiguous with current operations in
Richmond. The 13,500 square-foot addition, scheduled to open later this
year, will bring Peak 10 Richmond’s total footprint to nearly 30,000
square feet and will be the company’s 19th data center
facility within its 10 US markets.
“We focus our business on customer relationships, which has resulted in
steady success and consistent growth in the Richmond market”
“The expansion of our Richmond operations is a direct result of high
customer demand from enterprise companies stretching from Tidewater
Virginia to Washington, D.C.,” said Mark Wensell, Ph.D., the vice
president and general manager of Peak 10 Richmond. “We continue to
invest capital into our existing state-of-the-art facilities in addition
to constructing new ones. This second Richmond facility will allow us to
meet the current and future demand for our managed IT services
throughout the Virginia business community.”
Like all Peak 10 facilities which meet enterprise-class standards, the
new Richmond data center will be engineered with multiple levels of
security, uninterruptible power, HVAC systems, fire suppression and
around-the-clock monitoring and management. It will be SAS70 Type II,
PCI compliant and interconnected with Peak 10’s private network, which
provides customers the advantage of highly available Internet access and
the ability to leverage 17 data centers in nine other markets in
implementing disaster
recovery solutions.
“We focus our business on customer relationships, which has resulted in
steady success and consistent growth in the Richmond market,” said David
Jones, the president and CEO of Peak 10. “Our customer base continues to
grow and its IT requirements are ever-changing. The construction of the
second Richmond facility demonstrates that Peak 10 has the resources and
financial capabilities to respond to those changes and meet customer
needs.”
To ensure an unparalleled level of stability and facility integrity, the
new Richmond facility will undergo a formal commissioning process prior
to customer installations. Leveraging an industry-leading facilities
engineering and IT consulting firm, Peak 10’s data center commissioning
is a structured process which establishes the capability and reliability
of mission critical infrastructure. The process includes multiple and
repeatable test cycles using equipment that simulates how the data
center operates at various load levels and failover conditions.
“Our recent $95 million credit facility expansion further positions us
to continue our ongoing strategy of organic growth and re-investment
within our current markets,” said Greg Rollet, senior vice president of
market operations for Peak 10. “In addition to facility expansions, such
investments include scaling Peak 10’s technology, engineering and
virtual services to support the advancement of our next-generation
private cloud solutions in conjunction with our other core services and
support.”
Peak 10 Richmond’s managed IT and data center services improve
performance, reliability, lower costs and maximize internal resources
for customers while keeping their valuable information technology assets
close to the business. Peak 10 offers a wide range of technology
services including virtualization,
