“We're watching companies reinvent their entire IT infrastructure
to facilitate rapid business growth, better service availability for
their clients, and far more robust disaster recovery and high
availability, systems,” says Mike Klein, president of Online Tech. “We
see cloud computing providing a strategic edge for our clients every
day. We want to make sure every business in Michigan has the opportunity
to learn how they can benefit from cloud computing.”
Industry experts from UHY Advisors, VMWare, High Bit Security,
ATMP, and Online Tech will be on hand to share their knowledge. The
morning presentations will be given to the entire group in the
NextEnergy auditorium. Then, interactive breakout sessions from noon
until 2pm will dive into cloud computing compliance and backup/disaster
recovery considerations. Businesses have the opportunity to submit their
company for a workshop format analysis by the team of experts in a
special panel discussion.
Richard Vincent of IC Datacom was instrumental in the choice of the
TechTown and NextEnergy locations. IC Datacom, a company in TechTown,
was looking for a flexible platform for offering communication services
throughout the TechTown facilities for companies fostered there. When
Vincent attended Online Tech's March seminar earlier this year, he won a managed
cloud server. Vincent and the development team at IC Datacom
have been pleased with the results of testing the managed cloud servers
as a possible platform for providing their IT services.
“After hearing what cloud computing could offer our clients, I knew we
had to test it out for ourselves,” said Vincent. “We're excited to be
part of a cloud computing seminar at TechTown that can help other
business understand the value of cloud computing.”
