-- Introducing OnStage 2.2, the Newest Release of Aduva's System Deployment and Management Suite with a Host of Enhancements, Four Times the Responsiveness and the Ability to Make All Updates from One Console in a Single Click
Aduva, who provides tools for managing the full range of Linux solutions from "home-grown" to third party to OEM regardless of platform or operating system, today announced the release of OnStage 2.2, the system deployment and management suite that offers greater system manageability than ever before.
Supporting mainframes, Intel and AMD servers (32 and 64 BIT) and more, OnStage makes it possible to manage distribution from one console and to update required fixes in a single click. Ending manual installation while automating dependencies, OnStage checks system integrity without server downtime, replicates changes in configurations automatically across a number of servers in disparate locations, corrects incompatible configurations and much more.
Zev Laderman, Aduva's CEO explains, "OnStage supports the business process of Application Deployment, Configuration Management, Change Management and Patch Control. Our value proposition is simple. We accelerate Linux system adoption and ensure customers meet their Linux Total Cost of Ownership expectations. In brief, Aduva enables Linux system administrators to do more with less. From one console, they can manage large numbers of Linux servers. And, it doesn't matter whether the systems are distributed or mainframe or whether it's running SuSE or RH distros. Now, with the newest OnStage release, 2.2, we've quadrupled responsiveness and made enhancements far beyond anything that's currently available."
New features in OnStage 2.2 include:
-- complete lifecycle management of multiple hosts with varying distributions and architectures in one login.
-- Simultaneous updates of all software on multiple hosts regardless of distribution or architecture.
-- Single server installation for all distribution and hardware architecture management.
-- Command-line interface with export/import of profiles and inventories as editable files.
-- Multiple distribution/architecture profiles, jobs and confirmation policies.
These new features let OnStage 2.2 provide better management of deployed jobs schedule for future or periodic runs, improve usability of history reports, and improve functions for shared resources environments.
Offers Jeff Falgout, IT Operations, Jefferson County, Colorado, "OnStage has allowed us to manage our Linux servers and workstations as groups and distributions, eliminating the need to routinely visit each machine individually. It also enabled us to maintain strict control over software versions, provided us the capability to quickly duplicate machines and have a single repository for software. All of these capabilities came from a single package that is extremely easy to install and navigate."
OnStage 2.2 supports:
-- Red Hat for IA-32; 7.2, 7.3, 8.0, 9.0, Advanced Server 2.1, Enterprise Linux 3.0 (AS, ES, and WS), Fedora Core 2.
-- SuSE for IA-32; SLES 8, SuSE 9.0 and 9.1 Professional.
-- SuSE for zSeries S/390; SLES 7, SLES 8.
-- SuSE for AMD-64; SLES 8, SuSE 9.1 Professional
Zev Laderman sums up, "Flexibility and low cost are what Linux promises. Managing Linux systems with 99.9 percent error-free uptime is what OnStage 2.2 delivers."
